\n\tIn January, reports emerged<\/a> that Tyler\u2019s sixth annual Jam for Janie Grammy Awards Viewing Party<\/a> would be taking place on Sunday (Feb. 2) at the Hollywood Palladium in Los Angeles, with Aerosmith set to make a return performance. <\/p>\n

\n\tAlongside appearances from Billy Idol, Joan Jett, Lainey Wilson<\/a>, Tom Hamilton, Linda Perry, Matt Sorum, and Nuno Bettencourt<\/a>, the reported Aerosmith reunion would have been the group\u2019s first live show since Sept. 2023.<\/p>\n

\n\tWhile performing in Elmont, NY on Sept. 9 of that year, Tyler fractured his larynx, necessitating the postponement<\/a> of shows on their Peace Out tour. Ultimately, these shows were canceled entirely when the band announced<\/a> their retirement from touring in August 2024.<\/p>\n

\n\tThough excitement for a reunion from Aerosmith members was high in the lead up to the Jam for Janie event on Sunday, the result was equally appreciated when Tyler took to the stage for a rare live appearance. Ultimately, the likes of Aerosmith guitarist Joe Perry weren\u2019t on hand for the night, though bassist Tom Hamilton was.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\n\tPerforming with Extreme\u2019s Nuno Bettencourt, Tyler\u2019s six-song set featured a rendition of Aerosmith\u2019s \u201cToys in the Attic\u201d, Extreme\u2019s \u201cMore Than Words\u201d with Mick Fleetwood<\/a>, and \u201cDream On\u201d with Lainey Wilson. Joined by Hamilton and the Black Crowes<\/a>\u2019 Chris Robinson for performances of \u201cSweet Emotion\u201d, and \u201cWalk This Way\u201d (which also featured English singer Jessie J), the high-profile set closed out with a cover of Led Zeppelin\u2019s \u201cHeartbreaker\u201d.<\/p>\n

\n\tSunday\u2019s performance was only Tyler\u2019s second time appearing on stage since his vocal injury. In May 2024 \u2013 months before Aerosmith announced their retirement from touring \u2013 Tyler performed<\/a> \u201cMama Kin\u201d with the Black Crowes in London. At the time, the Black Crowes were planning to resume their role as the opening act for Aerosmith\u2019s then-postponed Peace Out tour later in the year.<\/p>\n

\n\tIt\u2019s currently unclear whether Tyler\u2019s return to the live stage could result in anything more in the future, though Hamilton did speak to Boston\u2019s WBUR<\/a> in January to give an update on the possibility of one-off Aerosmith appearances down the line.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cSteven\u2019s healing process is going really, really well, but it goes at its own pace,\u201d Hamilton told the station. \u201cMaybe Aerosmith will do something in the future, but it\u2019s a big if and the last thing I want to be doing is to try and push Steven in that direction.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cIf we do anything in the future, it would come from him,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
